I can’t believe we’re already in February! Are you getting ready for Valentine’s Day? Here we’ll be sharing some events, exciting resources and useful information for families in Southwest Florida.

FEATURING “THE FAMILY CAFE CONFERENCE ’13″

Registration for the 15th Annual Family Cafe

The 15th Annual Family Cafe will be held June 7-9, 2013 in Orlando.  Online registration for the conference will begin at 9:00 AM (EST) on the morning of Thursday, February 14th. Families can register by visiting www.FamilyCafe.net. As part of the registration process, families can request Financial Assistance to cover the cost of their hotel stay.  Financial Assistance will be distributed through a lottery process prior to the event.  A PDF version of the registration brochure is available on the Family Café website.  Families can also send in their registration form immediately by faxing it to 850/224-4674 or mail it to The Family Cafe at 519 N Gadsden St., Tallahassee FL 32301. Contact your Family Resource Specialist from more information.

The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council

Partners in Policy making, a leadership and advocacy training program that teaches self-advocates and parents to be community leaders and how to obtain best available services for themselves and others, is accepting applications for the 2013 training sessions. If you’re wondering how to apply for a habitat for Humanity Home there will be presentation at the Fort Myers Lee County Public Library 2050 Central Ave in Fort Myers on Thursday Feb 14th at 10:00am.
